Tonya Brumley comes from a long line of ranchers and farmers, who she describes as skilled in the art of stomping…. stomping muck off their boots. Tonya and husband Shawn have been married 22 years. Daughter Brooke is a college freshman, and daughter Morgan is in eighth grade at Dufur school.
Tonya has been employed for 17 years by N.W. Natural, where she is the C.G. Regional Community Affairs Manager. For recreation, Tonya spends time watching her daughters’ basketball and rodeo activities, downhill & cross-country skiing, gardening and reading.
When asked about dancing, Tonya confessed her parents paid for dance lessons because she was a clumsy child and she was terrified to perform stage routines. She now sees dancing as fun, great exercise, and a wonderful form of expression. She believes learning a formal dance will be fun, entertaining and also humbling.
When asked what her goal is in entering this competition, Tonya replied, “Don’t fall off the stage, miss my steps, forget the routine and visualize every-one else in their underwear !”
Tonya is a little nervous however she expects to dance better at the end of this journey and saying she doesn’t take herself too seriously. We know she will create a “stomping good time” at DWTGS.
